Brief history of Wat Muang

Wat Muang

Located at No. 30 Suranaree Road, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District,

Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

It belongs to the Mahanikaya sect of Thai Buddhism.

The temple grounds cover an area of 15 rai, 3 ngan, and 21 square wah (approximately 6.2 acres), under land title deed No. 993.

The temple was established around B.E. 2420 (1877)

and was granted the Royal Ecclesiastical Boundary (Wisungkhamsima) in B.E. 2447 (1904).

 

 

Boundaries:

 

  • North: adjacent to land plot No. 10

  • South: adjacent to land plot No. 20

  • East: adjacent to land plot No. 10

  • West: adjacent to a public road

 

 

Temple Structures:

 

  • Ubosot (Ordination Hall):

    Width: 5.6 meters, Length: 11 meters

    Built in B.E. 2446 (1903)

    Structure: Reinforced concrete

  • Sala Kan Parian (Dhamma Hall):

    Width: 15 meters, Length: 36.5 meters

    Built in B.E. 2518 (1975)

  • Monk Residences (Kuti):

    5 buildings in total

     

    • 1 wooden building

    • 4 reinforced concrete buildings

  • Multi-purpose Pavilion:

    Width: 21 meters, Length: 27 meters

    Built in B.E. 2531 (1988)

    Structure: Reinforced concrete
